What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an innovative approach to medical care that puts the emphasis back on the patient-physician relationship. A focus on preventative care, unhurried patient visits, and improved access which may improve health outcomes and lower overall healthcare costs. An affordable monthly membership fee allows patients to have quality preventative healthcare, and sick care.

How does membership work?
Our patients join Bountiful Health and pay an affordable monthly membership fee for their direct primary care services. There are no copays for in-person or telemedicine visits. As a member, Dr. Nieto will get to know your health history and then guide you to optimize your most valuable resource, your health. You can schedule extended-time office, sick or tele-visits. Your membership includes discounted pricing for laboratory, radiology, and pathology testing.
Bountiful Health’s patient members have access to discounted lab and radiology pricing. This is an additional fee outside of the membership plan. We believe in transparency of cost so all pricing will be disclosed prior to a test being ordered.
Do I need insurance?

No not to join as a member with Bountiful Health. We do recommend that you maintain either a high deductible insurance plan or a health sharing plan for any unforeseeable emergencies or for specialist services. Your membership with Bountiful Health covers primary care services and is not insurance coverage. Bountiful Health does not cover emergency room or hospital stays. In general, our practice pairs well with either a medical cost-sharing plan (Liberty, Medishare etc) or a high deductible insurance health plan.
Note: At this time Bountiful Health and Dr. Nieto are unable to accommodate Medicare or Medi-Cal patients due to contract constraints with those governmental agencies. (Bountiful Health is currently in the progress of credentialing with Medicare)*
What kind of conditions do you treat?
Bountiful Health is a primary care office and Dr. Nieto is Board Certified in Family Medicine with additional training in functional medicine. Dr. Nieto can treat a wide variety of conditions from well visits, nutritional assessments, and acute to chronic disease for a diverse group of patients in all age groups.
Do you have specialists?
Bountiful Health provides primary care services. There is growing evidence that top-level primary care can reduce the need for more specialized care as chronic situations are better managed and concerns are addressed early on before they become emergencies.
Of course, when the need arises, we will refer you to a doctor with the specialized expertise you may need to treat your particular condition.
Does membership exempt me from the ACA?
No. You must still have the minimum coverage required by the Affordable Care Act at this time. A Bountiful Health membership is not health insurance and does not exempt you for federal tax purposes. Many of our patients are enrolled in a healthsharing plan that may be used for tax exempt status. We do recommend you check with your tax advisor regarding ACA rules.
Can I use my insurance?
Bountiful Health is not contracted with insurance companies.* We do not submit claims for you to insurance companies. Our membership is not covered by insurance companies. High deductible insurance plans may allow you to submit lab or radiology costs towards your deductible, but we advise that you check with your health plan first.

Can I just come in for a single sick visit?
A membership with Bountiful Health gives you access to schedule for a sick visit and we can accommodate you either by an office visit, via telehealth or direct phone appointment.
